Freshers in Freelance: Is it a Good Idea?
With this scenario common in the professional world, it goes without saying that sooner or later, the freshers in the professional world will be offered freelance gigs, or atleast they will understand that there is something lucrative known as freelancing. The moot question at this time is - Should a Fresher opt for Freelancing?
- The answer to this question can be a bit complicated, because it basically depends on what kind of freelancing the fresher is looking at. If the fresher is keen on freelancing, and ok with retaining their day jobs, freelancing works as a kind of extra experience for the fresher. Of course, this does not always guarantee that the fresher is paid for their work, but then, you at least get something out of it.
- It also depends on whether the fresher is ready to handle the stress and pressure of not one, but two jobs. There have been countless cases where a hardcore veteran has taken up freelance gigs, and has not been able to complete them because of various reasons.
- It is simply stupid for the freelancer if they are looking to directly jump into the freelancing world, without having any exposure to the day job world. Freelancing requires the person to have several traits other than the core abilities of their profile, which can be only procured when the fresher works in the world of the day job.
